Blue and Golds back in training.

The Blue and Golds will return to training this Thursday 5th December. Tony Spence will take charge of his first session since becoming head coach at the Longcroft 3G.
Looking ahead to 2020, the club are likely to be in action as early as January. The club have not received a Rugby League Challenge Cup invitation but will instead enter the BARLA National Cup. Entries are still open for the cup until December 20th so it is not clear how many teams are entering. However some dates have been issued by BARLA. These are: preliminary round January 4th, first round January 18th, second round February 15th, quarter finals 29th February, semi-finals 28th March and Final 18/19th April.
The NCL season will start on the usual first weekend of March with fixtures due to be released soon. After a recent meeting of club delegates it was decided to stick with the same 4 division format. However division 3 will have 13 teams as opposed to 14 last year. Salford City Roosters resigned from the NCL at the end of the last campaign and the NCL have decided to accept no new teams. There was no shortage of interest. Applications were made by Ellenborough and Seaton(West Cumbria). The Barrow district also saw applications from Dalton and Walney Central together with bids to join from Bentley (Doncaster) and Wyke(Bradford).
